We watered the calves like Dad asked us to, then off to the bottoms behind the big red barn we went. Only, I'm stupid and forgot about the swamp back there. (Note: do not text and drive. Swamps are closer than they appear.) To make this a little shorter, I got us stuck. Dennie took off his converses like a retard and waded around in the frozen mud trying to push the gator out - all to no avail. An hour later we walked half a mile back to the house to warm up and get sturdier shoes and coats. Then to the barn we waltz to get 2X4 planks to put under the wheels for traction. An hour and a half later, we're finally home free - wet, muddy, and freezing. We rode around for a bit for the heck of it, found a cow carcass in the process, and almost got stuck again. Home and a hot shower never sounded so good.
Really, go ahead - laugh it up. I told Chris about it, and all he could say was, "Aww, you poor thing. I bet you're pretty sexy when you're all muddy..."
Sexy, indeed. Bah.
I just watched Cold Mountain. I have to say, I love that movie. It made me depressed-like. I miss Chris, but I'm a big baby so that's to be expected.
